The French native track is designed for children from 4 to 17 who speak French at home. Each one and a half hour class will require between 45 mins to 1.5 hours of homework per week. All resources used are those used by schools in France.

Grande Section Maternelle

  • 4-5 years old

  • It corresponds to kindergarden

  • The goal is to learn simple syllables

  • 5-7 years old

  • It corresponds to 1st grade

  • The goal is to learn to read

This class is not open this year. A new class is opened when there is a minimum of 3 registered students. New classes open at the beginning of the school year (August).

  • 6-8 year old

  • It corresponds to 2nd grade

  • The goal is to learn the foundations of writing: spelling, grammar and tenses (present, future and past)

2 classes open:
Chandler (Seton high school), Tuesday
& Scottsdale (Alliance Française), Thursday

CE2

  • 7-9 years old

  • It corresponds to 3rd grade

  • The goal is to strengthen CE1 skills while introducing new verb categories and a new tense

  • Students can be prepared to take the DELF A1 Prim exam organized by the French Ministry of Education at the Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix.

This class is not open this year. A new class is opened when there is a minimum of 3 registered students. New classes open at the beginning of the school year (August).

  • 8-10 years old

  • It corresponds to 4th grade

  • This year aims at studying French literature while strengthening skills and introducing three new tenses

  • Students are trained to take the DELF A2 Prim exam organized by the French Ministry of Education at the Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix.

  • 9-11 years old

  • It corresponds to 5th grade

  • In CM2 everything learnt in previous years is reviewed while pursuing the study of French literature.

Location: Scottsdale (Alliance Française)

  • It corresponds to 6th grade

  • The goal  is to study French drama and to introduce three more tenses

  • The goal is to study French classical novels

  • The goal is to further study French classical novels

  • Students are trained to take the DELF B1 exam organized by the French Ministry of Education at the Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix

  • It corresponds to High School freshman year

  • The goal is to further study French classical novels

  • 14-17 years old

  • It is similar to US high school's French 5 curriculum

  • Goal is to prepare for the AP French Language & Culture college board exam

  • Students can take the DELF B2 Junior exam organized by the French Ministry of Education at the Alliance Française of Greater Phoenix 

Location: ~3 out of 4 times online 
& ~1 out of 4 times in Chandler (St Andrew church)
